Creamy mustard sauce
Recipe for the most delicious creamy mustard sauce, – perfect for fish and white meat.
Ingredients
▢ 40 g butter
▢ 3 tbsp wheat flour
▢ 3 dl broth*
▢ 1 dl whipping cream or other lactose fre alternatives
▢ 1 – 1 1/2 tbsp coarse mustard – I use WholeGrain
▢ Salt and pepper
How to: Method
1- Melt the butter in a saucepan and whisk in the flour. Let it bubble for a minute, – whisk thoroughly so it doesn’t burn.
2- Whisk in the broth a little at a time, and then add the cream.
*If the sauce is to be served with fish, I use a fish broth. If it is to be served with pork or chicken, I use chicken broth.
*I use a little over 1/2 bouillon cube for this portion.
3- Bring the sauce to a boil and simmer for 4-5 minutes, whisking as you go.
4- Add the mustard and whisk it well into the sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
