Google Gemini glasses is to hit os in 2016

I am a gadget man, my nick name is mr Gadget, so I have been interested in AI glasses for a long time, even in Googles first attempt, the Google glasses about 10 years ago, And I am a programmer, so I really like Gadgets with benefits, that can help to make our day easyer, why not. It's therfor I am very Interested in IoT (Internet of Things), fx my lights at home is IoT, its a Philips Hue lamps, where it is interesting what you can do with them.

So why not a desent glasses with a display, that looks like a normal glasses with extra features, the only problem who control my data. Google or Meta or the Chinese? 

As I use a lot of my salary on Gadgets, with time, I have made my own procces to justify my need for that gadget, so I build up my creteria of needs or requirements and check if the gadges soloution does satisfy my requirements or not.

As I am a developer, have several friends, who also are devoloper and we all have interest in gadgets. Google Glass was announced at Google Developer I/O conference in late spring of 2012, where one of my friends attended, and we got to play withe Google glass in 2013, but as you may know, the project stoped after a few month, due to lack of programs, interest from developer and firms, and an unmature consumers that time.
Actually many Projects see the World in a too early stage, where it ends by closing Down, like the Apple Newton, the first tablet/PDA that came to the worls in 1993 and Steve Jobs killed the project when he came back to Apple in 1997, as it had weak performance. But it actually led to the creation of the great iPad many years later.

Google glass was halted in 2015, and discontinued in 2023, and now returning in the Project Aura. I am looking so much forward to it, as there have been so much inovation the past 10 years, also with consumers needs to apps that can be activated on the move and AI Integrated in so much of our life today, that I really think it could be a great success.

Summer 2024, I passed by our loacal optic shop and saw the Meta Glass, where I tried them and managed to play with them a while, where sharing posibillities is direct to Instagram and facebook, I guess it's because it's a Meta product. That actually stopped me from going further with buying them. I guess maybe it is because I am Living in Copenhagen - Denmark, where we are much aware of our data and who owns it.

I own my data. I will decide wich social media I upload a picture or a video to.

My Glass requirenments
What are my needs and requirenment of a given Glass project? I guess making my own requirements and needs, that I always make when testing a gadget is also needed here for a new Glass.

What could i like that a given Glass should be able to:
- Talk to my assistant.
   - Gemini on Google phones
   - Siri on iPhones
   - Alexa 
- Chat with Google Gemini or ChatGPT
- Ask for directions
- See maps
- Show weather
- Take a Picture or a video
- Share the given pictute or video with any social media that I am running on my device.

Gemini Glasses Aura is coming in 2026
When I saw the news of Googles Gemini Android XR Glasses with Xreal and there new Glass Project Aura, I am so interesting in what it can, and what is different from all other Projects?

I have heard and learned that if I am wearing a pair of Google Andoid Aura Glasses, I will be chatting with Google Gemini, and I tell the assistant to brighten up an image before I’ve even taken the pic. Gemini happily obliges. I also ask for directions for a nearby restaurant and Google Maps shows me turn-by-turn directions right in my field of view. And when I look down briefly I can see the whole map to reorient myself. When ariving home, I will say "OK google: Turn on my lights in the kitchen".

Just watching this video of everyday use of a pair of Glasses shows quickly that other glasses project like Samsungs XR glasses, and Meta Glasses and Apples solutions maybe in trouble.
